Self Confidence: The largest issue with high school girls … period! This affects everything in their life. Will be included in the workshops in August during the Big Bear trip. It is so difficult for many of the girls to stand out, to speak up, to make their own decisions, ask questions, and believe in themselves. This affects the girl’s academic, social, and athletic performances.
A story shared by a running coach at UC Davis captures this issue. The coach had a young man come into his office and tell him that he thought he could run in the Olympics. The coach took him out to the track and watched the young man run. The coach doubted the young man could even make a high school team. The coach found a young lady walking around campus, managed to convince her to run on the track, and found that she had obvious Olympic level talent. But the girl was convinced she was not good enough.
The Booster Club is creating content for this section and will include the workshop materials here when prepared.
